Lavspenning/Kabler/LV installasjonskabler

1 SCOPE

1.1 Purpose

The purpose of the technical specification is to provide guidance for the production, test procedures and delivery of products according to stated requirements. The technical specification contains technical and functional requirements to be fulfilled.

The cables shall provide capability to transfer power. The cables shall be free of halogens and self-extinguishing. The cables are used for general purpose power applications.

Explanation to the four letter code (IFSI) included in the designation:
I (1. letter) = massive insulation of halogen-free polymer (self-extinguishing)
F (2. letter) = fill material
S (3. letter) = screening leads/foil
I (4. letter) = outer sheath of halogen-free polymer (self-extinguishing)

2 REQUIREMENTS

2.1 Electrical requirements

a) All cables shall have isolated conductors with a rated insulation voltage, UNm of 1 kV.

2.2 Mechanical requirements

a) All conductors shall be constructed of stranded annealed wires of copper or aluminium.

  1. The conductors may have a circular shape or a sectorial shape.
  2. The insulation for the conductors shall be made of self-extinguishing material.
  3. The cable core with the conductors should/may include a fill material to make up the cross section arera (i.e. with a minimum of air gap present).

b) The screen shall be with consentric copper wires and suported by a copper foil to improve the EMC properties of the cable (immunity and radiation).

  1. The total cross section area of the screen conductors shall be harmonized to the actual cross section area of conductors and shall comply with NEK 400.

c) The outer sheath of the cables shall be made of self-extinguishing material.

  1. The compound of the outer sheath shall be selected to minimize problems with rodents and UV radiation.
  2. A rip thread may be included under the outer sheath to assist easy removal of the outer sheath.

2.3 Identification of conductors

a) All conductors shall have insulation material with different colours for unique identification.

  1. In cables with four conductors, the forth one shall be a neutral conductor with a unique light blue colour.
  2. The remaining conductors, the phase leads, shall all have a different and distingwishable colour.

2.4 Fire properties

a) The cables shall be free of halogens and fulfil the requirements for Class DCA, s2, d2, a2 in (NS-)EN 13501.

2.5 Cable products

F.number is a unique 9-digit number identifying the specific production variant provided by Bane NOR.
