1 SCOPE

1.1 Purpose

The purpose of the technical specification is to provide guidance for the production, test procedures and delivery of products according to stated requirements. The technical specification contains technical and functional requirements to be fulfilled.

The cables shall provide capability to transfer signals on twisted pairs in harsch environment. The cables shall be free of halogens and self-extinguishing (METI types). The cables shall withstand relevant loads that may be present in normal operation of facilities for railways.

M (1. letter) = foamed insulation of PE / PP with filling compound (Vaseline)
E (2. letter) = sheath of PE / PP
T (3. letter) = armouring (helically wraped aluminium leads in electrical contact with two steel tapes)
I (4. letter) = outer sheath of halogen-free polymer (self-extinguishing)
E (4. letter) = outer sheath of PE / PP

To be used for long distance balanced transmission in harsch environment.
